Resource saving with improved Unifi hosting for MSP
We have been with Clouduni.fi now for almost 2 months and the saving in time and resource for our Unifi hosting has been incredible.
We were hosting our own controller and had been for some years. We were having issues keeping it stable, we had backup problems, and lots and lots of device disconnect notifications when the devices were actually online.
Before we signed up the Clouduni.fi team had helped us to get our controller stable and get backups running again.
We supplied them a backup file after signing up for their 1000 Unifi device plan. They took our backup file, imported it, cleaned up the database and then had us check all the config had moved over.
On a Monday we changed our domain name to point to the Clouduni.fi controller. It took some hours for everything to migrate. This was partly our fault as the TTL on the domain was set to 24 hours, but once everything had stopped talking to our controller and was all talking to the new controller we could see how much difference it made straight away. The controller webgui was nice and smooth, we were not getting device disconnect alerts in the alert page, and our backups were working.
From spending 5+ hours a week maintaining our controller and runnning it in a risky manner as our backups were not working consistently, to spending no time maintaining it and spending more time selling and building Unifi network, this move was a no brainer.
A quick calculation shows us saving $500 per month on internal billing hours, and increasing Unifi network sales revenue by close to $700 in the first month.
